Lens Filters

Filters can dramatically alter the character of the light that enters a lens and they can have a wide variety of uses, from simple protection of the lens surface to restricting certain wavelengths of light and polarising etc.

Many applications require the use of filters in front of the lens to either enhance the illumination or reduce the effects of ambient lighting.

Filters are defined by their spectral transmission. They come in a wide variety of sizes and care must be taken to ensure that the correct thread pitch is used to prevent damage to the lens.
